Best Practices for Acan Growth

Title says it. If you've had success getting acans to grow well in your tank I'd like to hear what you are doing to make it so.

I've got 2 types of acans. One is at the top of my tank (high flow, high light) the other is on the sand (lower light, low flow), both do fine but it seems like the ones on the sand grow faster.
