Why do I hear of people having over flowing problems? Trying to know to avoid that situationYes to both.
Is that pump perfect? I want to make it flow back into the tank slowly, not fast to where it will delay if it does. Not a fast pump where it just tsunamis back into the tankToms aqualifter

I guess no top off is better than top off on your floor lolNot sure, I'm not one of those people. If something makes the pump run longer than normal when your not home, you risk not having a topoff, but I cannot think of a scenario where it would overflow unless the sensor failed. Mine has worked flawlessly.

No, it can only pump up 3ft I think, you would need to have your ATO container higher up. As far as I know there are not any smaller pumps that can pump 6ft+, most of the ones that can do that have a GPH that would flood your tank. Will the Aqua lifter pump up water if my water reservoir is more than 30 inches lower than the tank? And my tank is more than 30 inches taller than the pump?
Why? The Hydor one is a great ATO and with the added benefit that you do not have to worry about snails, waves or salt creep.Just go with a mechanical top off and a bucket that won't over flow your sump.

What is that?I'm not talking about a electronic float switch.
