As I SLOWLY piece my 37 gallon together I've come to the crossroad of LED or T5HO. In your opinion what is the best lighting for a FOWLER (eventually reef) setup without killing ones pocket!

A lot of choices out there... Led seems to be most efficient cost wise and Marineland and Current USA have reasonable options

Reef light made easy

So type into google "foster and smith" and click saltwater. I got the led for my 14 gallon it was cheaper than most or was the same price. It's awsome sunrise, sunset, and automatic timer. 129$ and my corals like it.

Look at the ocean revive arctic t247, best budget led I've seen so far.

Ocean revive/evergrows are by far the least expensive but easily used for an upgrade IMO (as I went from 2 on my 50g to adding 1 more when I went up to a 150g) not the cheapest, but definently not radion priced..and not cheap enough to only be used for fowlr or small tanks....

In my experience you will do the least amount of harm to your pocket by looking for your ideal reef light. Do not look at the price. You will end up with that light either way. I am not a wealthy reefer at all. I pay rent and I am a server at a restaurant. I tried lighting on a budget and what I ended up doing was buying a lot of bargain lights that I wasn't happy with. I have probably spent 800.00 bucks on lighting to end up with my Ai hydra. It is a great light and does absolutely everything I need it to do and then some. I started with t8 then quickly went to PC then to T5 then to non dimmable LED on a walmart timer before I just said screw it I've already spent so much money I might as well buy a top shelf light. I did all of this in about an 8 month time span. Do yourself and your tank a favor and save a little longer for a much better light. You will actually save money and have a better looking reef!

^^ agreed

I'm satisfied, and my corals are happy and growing very well under LEDs. Reef Breeders Value fixture.

There are better ones out there, perhaps, but for the price, they're doing what I was hoping for.
