Best skimmer choice for 310gal

Would like to hear what everyone would recommend for a skimmer choice on my 310. I was looking at these units here

Bashea twisted skimmer sized appropriately. True power and workhorse and will never need replaced. Becketts Out perform needle wheels IMO.

They are both great skimmers, just depends on whether you want a DC pump or not. I prefer to stick with AC for ease of use and reliability.

I have the Regal on a 300g. I love it, supper easy to adjust, dialed it in one time and it’s been super consistent since then.

Of course I can’t compare it to the others mentioned but I found the RO on an open box discount on BRS and could not be happier.

edit: only been running about a year so I also cannot comment on the longevity.

Have had Bubble King, Vertex, Reef Octopus and others. Easily Life Reef is the best skimmer I have owned. Simple, easy to adjust. Just about as close to plug and play as you can get.

So I came across these while shopping around what are your thoughts are they worth it. Im not worried about price but where ever I can save is always a plus the open box item from brs is $550

I am so jelous on price tag you guys have in US. Here in EU you cant buy that skimmer beneth 750 euros around 900 dollars. I saw that skimmer in use it is super quiet and pull alot of stuff out.

To bad shipping from US to EU is so expensive.

I recommend lifereef!! Set it and forget it and pretty much good for a lifetime (uses any pump)

Are we talking internal, external? How tall can you do? LifeReef are tops, IMO. Had some really good experience with the Tunze ones - they are underrated. Sicce powered RO skimmers are nice, but they have gone to lesser pumps lately.

Generally speaking, skimmers with pumps on the inside have given up space for contact and are not as good.

Looking for an internal sump skimmer. My stand is 36” tall. I am eying that SRO simply because it is an AC pump. I’m also not trying to spend a boat load of money just for a brand name of something of lesser brand that will do the same job. I have more than enough room to do a external skimmer I’m just not familiar with the plumbing as I do not want to make any holes in my 48” sump from TideLine

LifeReef would be my choice.

If you have to go needlewheel, then consider a pair of smaller ones if you have room. A pair of 200-250g skimmers will crush a single larger ones. I like to run pairs if I have room.

If you have money to burn buy one of the new Deltecs. Otherwise just buy the proven one with years of great performance.

Welp I went ahead and took advantage of the savings and purchased the open box SRO. Thank you all for the advice I really appreciate it
