Best skimmer under $250

What skimmer would you guys recommend for a tank about 93 gallons total under $250? I’m considering the bubble magus curve 5 it seems to have good reviews.

In that price range you may also want to look at a Simplicity skimmer or for just a few dollars over your cap you may also want to consider a Reef Octopus 150. Good luck no matter what you choose!

I am a big fan of reef octopus. Look for a used one.

I was looking at the reef octopus 150 INT but it’s pretty large. Another option is saw was the AquaMaxx fc 120.

If you change your mind, I have a Curve 5 Elite I got 5 months ago, that I am swapping out.

When it comes to skimmers, the pump is really the only failure prone part of it.

I recommend the Curve 5 you’re looking at though. The price-to-performance made me go bubble magus, and I was VERY happy with it.... replacing it with a Curve 9 Elite

i have the Reef Octopus 150, has been working like a champ and is very quiet.

I just upgraded my RO 110SSS for a Curve 5 Elite and I'm totally happy with it. Super quiet and has developed a thick foam since the start despite only having 30g total water valume.

I like that the curve 5 elite uses a sicce pump and that’s it’s compact compared to the RO150 INT. It’s the same price as the AquaMaxx FC-120 that also uses a sicce pump has anyone ever tried it?

I love my Octo Classic 110SS... I run my skim pretty dry and it does a great job.
