I would say film algae on the glass is best removed by the hobbyist. But I like astrea and turbos for my rocks.

Trochus snails are the best all around cleaners in my experience. And they will breed in your tank over time.

Money cowries are often overlooked treasures for rock cleaning. My nerites stay on my glass. Ceriths hit the glass and the rock.

As others said, a mixture is best since they will do different things. Trochus are probably my favorite all around snail and they can turn themselves over so they don’t die if they fall and land upside down like astreas do. You will still need to scrape your glass regularly. Unfortunately nobody has come up with a good way to automate that, but let us know if you do! Snails just leave interesting designs all over it…

My personal opinions are:
Glass = you have to scrape it yourself
All around = trochus snails

*nassarius and conch for sand but that wasn't your question
