So our mangroves and chaeto have arrived and I'm curious whats the best spectrum for them. I'm currently running a 24" reef brite actinic over the live rock in the sump which seems to be doing ok but not sure if the algae and the trees are gonna need some more white to thrive or be fine?

It seems like ppl really like the pink looking lights for growing chaeto these days, and i am currently running one. Grows chaeto very well. With that being said i am switching back to a whiter spectrum because I just enjoy the look more. I’ve had just as much luck with the pink lights as I have the 6700k stuff.

Yeah I hear you, just trying to figure out where I need to be to keep both happy. Last time I grew mangroves was under power compacts if that tells you how long its been. lol

hard to beat a 6700k CFL screwed into a shop lamp lol

I think that a typically wide spectrum is always nice. That way you can't really go wrong lol. I have a regular ai prime 16 over my refugium (I wouldn't recommend this particular light for a refugium due to heat issues, but the spectrum works well for me)

i just stared my little fug i have a kessil h80 right now but might change it to a a306x i got laying around i want more of a natural light and can tune it to be more of the day light look
