I currently have a 55g with about 80+ lbs of LR in the tank. I have an additional 30lbs or so in my sump, but my PH still seems to drop to about 7.8 within a one to two weeks time after water changes. All other numbers are good, calcium 420, no phosphates, and Alk is stable as well. I want to change the LR in my sump with a better substrate to maintain a stabler PH, what should I be looking into?

Aragonite sand buffers pH somewhat.....but doesn't make a whole lot of difference in the grand scheme of things, in my experience. If I were gonna add it to my sump, I'd use cheap select size aragonite from petco or petsmart. dropping to 7.8 is pretty good, IMO :)
