best sand substrate for sps
I had the live sand and It looked like a snow storm ever day so I took It out what should I use
I have 2 mp40's ????

I was in the same boat so when I started my current tank I went with the Special Grade Agri Live sand from BRS. I'm loving it. No more snow storms. I've got a 4ft 75g tanks with two mp40's.

Quick update just redid my Aqua Scape what do you guys think Now is time for the sand

Looks like you've got lots of great places to mount some corals!

Thank jc_ellis lean towards that one and reef flakes
And yes lots on places for coral and open for fish to swim around lol

Just curious. Why do you "need" substrate?

It's not a necessity, plenty of successful bare bottom tanks out there. It's for a large amount of beneficial bacteria for denitrification and phosphate reduction. Most people, not all, think it looks better/natural.

I'm considering throwing a bag of the spacial grade in my 40. Dunno if I should or just let it be.....

Fresh sand always blows around. After a few months my sand always settles down and I pump up the flow on my MP40's.
