I have seen a ton of cool screen shots on here with sweet apps that track parameters etc. Anyone have a favorite? I searched the App Store and all I could find was aquarium games and screen savers. Nothing that looked useful.

I tried several and always ended going back to my trusty Excel spreadsheet. But that's just me.

Thanks, yeah, that is what I use currently. Why did you switch back are the Apps just hard to use or don't provide value?

If you have an Apex, the Fusion app is great otherwise I used Aquarimate for the longest time.

I do have an Apex that will be going on my new tank. After seeing some of the threads about issues I'm a little hesitant to hook it up. But I already bought all the peripherals, so in for a penny in for a pound. The Apex will only be connected to one tank for now, and I have two others, so I'll probably look for an app that let's me log parameters on multiple tanks.

I use aquaplanner pro. I like it because it makes lovely graphs and such when I put in my parameters. You can also list livestock you have in your tank, what equipment you're using, notes, etc. It also allows for you to have more than one tank listed.

Thanks! Yeah, after I posted this thread I used google and found a really interesting read about the top five apps for saltwater aquariums and Aquaplanner Pro topped the list. I like that it can track more than one tank. I have three SW and one FW, and it'd be neat to track all in one place.

That's why I still use Aquarimate at times, it lets you log multiple tanks. I have three tanks but only one is running on the Apex.

Nice, I missed that the first time I read your post. Thanks for the feedback!

+1 on Aquarimate. I absolutely love it and track both of my tanks in it. I love the daily reminders.

I have nothing against the apps...as you can tell, many people use them. I'm rather proficient with Excel so I just always gravitate back to it. More of a comfort thing with me!

Thanks for your feedback! I like Excel as well (hello frag rack organization), but I may give the app a try. It's a low enough price point to justify at least trying it.

I love excel, work with it everyday... but my phone and tablet won't really run excel. A cool app would be great, one that could export to excel would be even better!

That's a great idea. I'd prefer to keep the data on Excel too.

Do any of the apps allow export? If so you can look into file formats. For instance, if it will export as a csv you can then import that into excel. I believe excel allows multiple types of files to be imported.

I'd be curious too. I'm at work and have zero cell reception or I'd browse the features in the app store.

I've not had a problem using Excel on the phone or tablet. Well on the phone maybe but that's just because I can't see the tiny screen.

I love Aquarimate [emoji4] let's me keep track of my parameters on both my tanks and allows you to put the instructions for the test under each test parameter, eliminating my paper instructions. I also lets u make time lines for your fish and corals, add pictures for each coral, which I use to document their growth.

I second aqauamate works pretty good , can store parameters, set alarms for task , add livestock , and also keep track of money spent and on what . Might wanna hide that part from the wife ;)
