Hey fellow reefers :
Ive been using 2 OR T247 LEDs for my 55g sps dominated tank for about 6 months . Everything looks great and amazing colors but i feel like i need to supplement with T5 bulb to bring out a little more colors in the corals . I only have room for one bulb in the canopy unfortunately . So if anyone can help me out with the bulb idea will be amazing . Thank you

Can you post a photo of your tank under the less

sure , most of this pictures i have are month or two old .

I have three 026's above my 125 and just recently added two T5's. I liked the color of the led's alone, but once I got the T5's in it looks so much better when they are on. I went with a blue plus in the back and a coral plus up front.

Following along! Just installed 2 of 3 T247 fixtures over my tank and was planning on adding T5 for supplementation as well.

What is the organge and green coral in the front left? It looks pretty cool in the pic.

I think your colors look fine. Don't think adding a T5 could hurt but also do not see a need for 1

i know it will cover some of the shadows in the tank . With LEDs you get color on the SPS only on the spots the light touches the rest of the shadow spot have not color and will be awesome to color those parts of the color as well

did you see any color changes in the corals ? and what time colors you have in the tank . Thanks Bryan .

"type of corals "

I've only had them on for two weeks, so the corals haven't really had time to morph. They do bring out more colors than just the led's alone, but the biggest change was the elimination of the shadows and brighter overall look.

Tank is a mixed reef, mostly acros, zoas, acans and a fews lps pieces.

ohhh i see , what do you think as for one bulb should i go with blue plus or coral plus to bring out more colors from the corals ?

ahh yes the shadow effect I agree as I see that on my corals also. Your colors are pretty insane though :).
I also am considering adding 2 T5 to my reef radiance IT2040. How long would you plan on running it/those if you got 2?

hahah thank you , i use seachem trace and that think works trust me . I dose it everyday small amounts . When i add the T5 bulb ima rub them 5 hours a day . I run my white LEDS 6 hours a day so ill have the T5 to turn on hour after the main lights and turn off an hour before the main lights go off .
