My tank normally runs between 78.5 up to 80 in the hot weather. I do not have a chiller but use a/c and fans etc.. what is the best temp? I have seen anywhere from 77 all the way up to 83. Days like today (hit 93 degrees) my tank went from 78.8 this morning to 79.5 now which isn't too bad I guess considering. What do you guys run your reef tanks at and when do you get concerned about it being "too hot"? Also do you run heaters year round?

I had an issue on Thursday , I usually run mine from 78-80 max and mine shot up to 83, really concerned so I ran a thread, Not Ready for a chiller and had great responses and suggestions. You might want to check it out... Lots of really good suggestions. :)

Even if you just run a small fan constantly it should bring the tank temp down at least 2 degrees f. And if it dips too low, your heater should kick on.

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
