Hello reefers,
I was wondering what is the best tester when it comes to alkanity Calcuim magnesium salt and phosphate would be?

I like Red Sea Pro for Alk, Calc and Mag. I use a Hanna for phosphate and a refractometer for salt.

+1 for what redfishbluefish said

The red sea kits provide incredible accuracy for hobby use much better than API kits which work but lead to less than spot on results. Refractometer is definitely better over a hydrometer. They come out of calibration and I have broken a couple and its much easier to read a refractometer

I use Red Sea! easy to use and accurate. make sure to follow directions and maybe get a water test done at your local coral store for a ref.

We really like Salifert test kits for ease of use and Hanna checker for phosphates due to its accuracy. I have never been a fan of color comparison test kits because they always look different with depending on what type of light bulb you use in the room you are testing. I don't want to have to take my kits outside to natural daylight just to check the color. With salifert it clearly changes from blue to pink or pink to blue so there is much less room for mistakes. I would highly recommend a refractometer for salinity, its far more accurate and easy to use.
