What testing kits are the best or most reliable?

I see the Hanna ones and am thinking about getting those but just want to make sure im not buying something different in a month or so.

also what ones would you purchase?

PH? Nitrate? Phos? ALK? all the above?

Thanks!

I'm too lazy to repete this information. It was recently discussed here:

Sorry.

For #s = Hanna or Salifert

For long term success = YOUR EYES. sometimes helll with the #s, use your eyes to see how your Animals respond

Reef?

pH - I would not bother.
Nitrate - I like the Red Sea kit. People seem to like the new Hanna HIGH RANGE kit.
Phosphate - The only one that is useful for our ranges is the Hanna ULR
Alk - Should be a titration, by definition. I like Salifert. API works well, but only has 1 dKH graduation unless you double the sample volume.
Calcium - API is good enough. +/- 20 ppm. People hate the Hanna Ca checker
Mg - Used to be Salifert was about the only option. I like it, but don't have to use it very often. There are others now.
