Good evening all. So I am getting ready to do my bi-weekly water change and and started thinking about the time of day to do it. What do you all think is the right time of day? Personally, I do it at night when my corals are closed up. That way from my perspective, they are not bothered as much by the water level exposing them, or the sudden change in nutrients or temp. What do you all think?

As long as your new water matches the temp , salinity and is not too far off on the other parameters it shouldn’t matter what time of day or night you do a water change . One thing I would add is the amount of water you would change out every two weeks , cut in half but change every week it wouldn’t be as stressful . Just make sure when your adding the water back in it’s slower as opposed to dumping it with a fire hose

Anytime should be fine, unless you doing it early hours in the morning wend most fish are asleep

At the same time of day at the same frequency and percentage.
For me that’s every Sat, 10am, 10%.
This enhances stability greatly.

For example, if my percentage is too high, nutrients will be lowered. Same if frequency is advanced.

By doing things the same way each and every time, your water chemistry will have little flux.

Good Idea

I do it in the mid-aftdrnoon, so I can see what I'm doing. Prefer to do it while some sports are on TV
