Best tool for cleaning bare-bottom tanks?

Is a good old syphon my best bet? Or is there something better out there?

Some folk set their wave makers up to create a storm surge that runs once or twice a day to help move the detritus off the bottom and into the overflow & socks, & or skimmer. Siphon is still a great tool.

siphon is probably your best bet without changing flow much. perhaps lower your wave pumps and aim them a little higher to compensate for being lowered?
