I have been considering getting an underwater camera for a couple of years now. I originally considered the Nikon Coolpix-aw100, but it was around 340$ at the time. I was recently at a local target and they had a Pentax WG-10 on sale for 150$ which seems like a heck of a deal. Its 14MP, has a macro focus of 1cm, and is waterproof down to 37feet. I wasn't sure if anyone here would have any suggestions or experiences with these cameras, or similar ones.

Thanks!

I have the W60 It is a good camera for the money. Pictures come out very good dont waste the money on the Nikon i have a Nikon DSLR but use the Pentax w60 for under water. You will be very happy with the camera

That's a great picture, I'm assuming with the flash on? I was impressed by the setup on the WG-10 because it has 6 leds around the lens for macro shots. I figured it might offset the blue from the LEDs on my tank pretty well as opposed to a bigger flash.

You can get right up on top of the corals verse shooting through the glass. This is just my opinion, other people might not feel the same. Good luck when u get the camera give me a shout if u need help with it..

Yes the flash was on other wise it was to Blue i mean i could adjust that but i think this picture is pretty good for a camera that was $100.00. im using T5s now ill shoot some next week when i change to LEDs

Thanks a ton man. If I end up picking it up this week I'll post up some pictures for sure!

I have a drift hd. Its a hd camcorder and has a 10mp cam built in. Its really nice bc its WP and if u plan to dive deeper the 30ft u can get a case for it.

Idk I like the idea of being able to do either video or pics.

Good luck

The downfall with the wg-10 is the fact that it only records in 720 :( that pic from the Nikon cool pix is really good though!
