Hey guys,

Looking for suggestions for a mostly reef safe wrasse to help me keep my red planaria in check. I had a Christmas wrasse - killed by the curly que anemone. I had a yellow coris wrasse - jumped. All did a great job at keeping the planaria in check.

Tank size is 65 gallons (36x18x20? I think) Current occupants are two clowns and a yellow watchman goby. Must be generally LPS and SPS safe. And preferred price range less than $100 but preferred less than $70.
I have a sand bed. Bright colors/multi color is preferred but not required.

Any thoughts?

Too bad the coris jumped . Line sixes do well but are agreesive for your other fish . Another yellow coris but get a lid . Most wrasses can jump when spooked

I have egg crate for a lid but he apparently got through that. I’ve been tempted to get a glass lid, I’m just to lazy to clean it and the mesh are expensive from what I’ve seen (not a DIY guy generally)

You can get the 1/4 “ mesh relatively cheap on amazon then cut and glue on top of your grate

Anything from the genus Halichoeres will work. I would stick to smaller species due to the size of tank though.
Wrasses such as;
- H. iridis
- H. leucoxanthus
- H. chrysus
- H. biocellatus
- H. ornatissimus
- H. timorensis

Thanks! I’ll check them out when I get home
