I need a long scraper for the back glass of my tank. Preferably something around 30" or so, to reach the bottom easily. What is the best scraper you have used? I use a flipper for the sides and front, but cannot access the back except from inside the tank. Thanks!

Lets see of the #reefsquad has some recommendations.

What have you found so far? you could do a poll and get a vote;)

I use a Kent Marine Pro-Scraper II and it works really well on those hard to reach places or near the sand. I think they make a longer version that would do what you want (mine is the 16-24).

I also used a kent marine scraper for many years. Its effective but very delicate, so I do not recommend them. The razor blades on them are very thin and prone to bending on the edges etc when you are really trying to get some coraline algae off the glass. Especially in the corners. If it bends, it can scratch your glass. So if you do decided to go with one. Inspect it at all times. Also do not store standing up on the blade as it can bend it as well. I always bought a couple sets of blades as backup. I kept like 6 on hand because its a pain in the rear if you are cleaning the tank and one bends and you dont have one available.

I would have also given the kent marine a nod if I hadn't found the seachem scraper. Its hands down better than the kent marine. The blades are bigger and thicker than whats available on the kent scraper. The blades are also retractable. I have not bent one yet. I have a calc reactor on my aquarium so coraline grows like crazy. Best scraper I have owned. Its buoyant so if it slips out of your hand it will float. I dont like that part but oh well.

Good luck in your decision.

Thanks for the ideas... I a kent one, but it's only like 23" or so.. I like it ok, but agree the blades bend easily and once bent they are worthless as the angle is wrong...

I like the fusion scraper by jw pet company. The angle is nice and they seem rugged.I don't know if the product comes in a 30" size though.I do know that it comes in a 22"size.
