best way to catch bristle worm?

just found a pretty big bristle worm and wanted to know whats the best and easiest way to catch them. gf freaked out the moment she saw it and refuses to do anything involving the tank until I get it out of the tank. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Easiest way is to probably build a trap, there's loads of designs on Google for them just make sure you wear some gloves when handling it once caught.

How big is pretty big? For smaller ones look up minnow trap tutorials on YouTube, throw some raw shrimp from the grocery store in that bad boy and let it sit right next to the rock you think he's in (preferably after lights out) and if you're lucky that bad boy and some smaller ones will he inside within minutes.
You can also put some shrimp in stockings and tie it off. When he goes to eat the shrimp he should get tangled up in the material because of his bristles. Then take it out and start a firepit in the backyard. You can take it from there [emoji6]

Wait until lights out, feed the tank just a bit to entice him out. Take some long tweezers and just pick him up.

Same as above, I would put a small piece of shrimp on a rubble rock/rubber band , so kinda of like - come and get it - with lights out and they would run out of the rock work, gather around the shrimp and then I would pluck them out with large tweezers. They are smart and dumb at the same time, they loved the shrimp but they would see my tweezers coming as well.

I have built a trap before and used that with some success as well. Good Luck.

yeah i tried to use tweezers but this sucker is fast!! this worm is gotta be at least 6-8inch long maybe be longer.

Obviously I'm not him but once they get big they can start damaging corals. I am a fan of bristleworms in the tank but not above 3 inches.
Having a 6-8" bristleworm would give me the heebie jeebies lol

Ah yea that's true. I guess my tanks almost always had wrasses that would keep them in check before they got too big haha.

Check that, yes they are fast and very cunning - - - they know that you are there and looking for them, they have sharp senses! Critters like are not on my all time favorite list. I kept a few but they need to stay in check, not too many or too big!;Wideyed;Mask;Stig
