Hi i am in need to catch some swifty chromis in my 120L aquarium, there are plenty of hiding spots and rock work i do not wish to take down, is there any more experienced aquarists tricks or traps i can use because i am really not great with getting them in the net, if it comes down to it i will have to tear down the rock work but will try not to thanks [emoji106]

Fish trap is the best, put the trap in the tank when the fish are asleep, don't feed them for a few days then feed the trap...some fish may go in straight away, others will be wary for a day or two. My peacock wrasse use to just chill inside once he was use to it...then when I trapped her she just kept eating the mysis.
I used an acclimation box as a trap with success. Or, the inverted bottle trick is pretty effective.
Just make sure the bait is irresistible

I have cut a 2 liter bottle and just put it in my tank waited for my damsel to go in there so I can get him out. Put the bottle in the area the fish is comfortable. Just a waiting game from there. Why spend $$ on s fish trap just make your ownI used an acclimation box as a trap with success. Or, the inverted bottle trick is pretty effective.

One boy told me that he catched fishes thanks to red leds. With red light fishes are as blind and you can catch them without effort...he had a mitras fixture and he only let on the red channel (obviously no sun light or any bulb switched on in the room)

As far as I know it doesn't blind them. In the ocean, red is the first part of the visible light spectrum to be filtered out by the water, so most fish haven't developed the need to see red light.
It doesn't blind them, but because they can't perceive red, the tank is practically dark. You have to do this during lights out at night time.
We use red because we can see it, but the fish can't.
This is just my understanding though.
I've heard of this repeated a lot as being a great way to catch fish, but have never heard any real stories of it working.
I think the bottle trap is the best bet

I have had good success with leaving the tank in total darkness for several hours, and then switching the lights on. It stuns the fish to the point where they can be picked up with your hands. I am not sure if this harms the fish or not though unfortunately. It also only works if you know where the fish "sleeps". I have also used acrylic, sliding door traps which also work very well.
I put a critter cage on the he side of the tank for a couple of days with fishing line attached to the door. I made sure to put plenty of food inside each time I fed and before long voila! Cheap and effective.

Interesting! I haven't seen this before.
I take it the fishing line is tied to the lid and anchored down to hold the lid open, when a fish goes in, you release the anchor and the lid swings shut?

I wish it was that good! Lol. No, actually I just superglued the fishing line to the door but when the time came and the fish was inside I forgot about the fishing line and just ran over to the tank, put my hand in and shut the door manually. That worked for me pretty well. I caught an dwarf angel and both of my tangs this way.
