Im having my bathroom remodeled next week and I don't want any dust particles or anything to enter my tanks. What's the best way to cover them? I have plastic tarp which could allow some light through, and i have fabric tarp that would block the light- I don't want to put either of them over the lights themselves for fire harzard reasons.

Any suggestions to the best way to protect the tank from construction?

If construction will be done only during the day, could you cover the tank before work or in the morning so it would be covered during the day? Then when you arrive from work, or when the crew leaves for the day, uncover and start your lights? Maybe do a reverse light schedule during this time for the above reason?

I'm assuming the tank isn't in the bathroom. :D Could you place an exhaust fan in a window that would direct any airflow away from the tank during the times when construction is occurring? May not be the most energy efficient, but have the least impact on the tank.

I just use the cheap plastic drop cloths for a buck and some blue painters tape. I tape the plastic to the wall, ceiling and floor to make a tent around the tank while doing my drywall work in house. This allows the tank to run as normal.

lol yea the tank is not in the bathroom! Its just down the hall and the men will be passing it all day long to access the bathroom.

a tent of the plastic drop cloth is a good idea, I didn't think about that. That is an option for sure.

4 mil plastic used for covering insulation. Cheap and easy. Tape for further security.
