I've recently started using B-Ionic two part and - like many folks - found that the alkalinity solution is full of solids. The method they recommend of immersing the bottle in warm water with periodic shaking was quite tedious for a lazy guy like me. This time around I just set the bottle on top of my Zoo-Med 4 watt under-tank heating pad, shook the bottle two or three times over the course of 24 hours, and everything dissolved quite nicely.

I just put mine in a cast iron frying pan on low heat for about 2-3hrs. LOL. Nice DIY thought.

I just put in a sink full of hot water. The wife loves when she walks into the kitchen and finds (more fish crap in her sink).

Huh. I never had an issue with mine. Filled it up to the crease in the bottle with Ro/di and shook for about 15 minutes. Haven’t had any issues with particles going on 8 months!

I buy it in the 5 gallon buckets in concentrated form. In the winter it comes with 2" of solid in the bottom.

I add the RO, drop in a heater and a powerhead. Next day it is ready.

I just put a pump in the bucket and let it run in there over night. The next day poof all of the hard stuff is gone!

I would be worried that the frying pan method, even on low, would melt the plastic bottle.

I was not serious.
Doh, not only am I lazy, I'm also gullible! I actually did try something like that with something else I was trying to dissolve except I used a pot full of water on the stove at low, and the plastic did soften such that the bottle warped. I think it might have worked if the bottle hadn't been resting on the bottom of the pan.

The only problem I’ve had when dissolving it is when I didn’t add the RODI water to the designated fill line before shaking it.

now. Add the RODI as instructed, shake it up a few times a day, and if needed give it a hot water bath
