Best way to frag this sinularia

Hi guys!

Would love some advice on how to frag this sinularia. Seems happy when the lights are off but opens its polyps but also bends over as well when the lights switch on, like the "head" is too heavy for it. Been like this for a while. I stuck it in an area with a little less light cover but it keeps on with the bending... anyway!
Is it harmful to cut it at the main trunk? That would be the first preference. Or would it be wiser to cut each "branch"?

Haha! Guess the big guy is having a ruff day. Usually when softys like gorgonians -kenya tree-leathers limp over, almost always points toward the lack of flow. The higher flow usually will make the softys tighten up a bit. In the meantime, you could always place a rock up against the side of it for it to stay up straight. Otherwise, after some time the piece would adapt to what conditions you have, and go from there.

To answer your question, you can just use plain scissors. A little snip, some glue and a surface to stick it into. Cutting the trunk to fix the limp doesn't seem like a good idea considering it would eventually align itself.

Thanks a tonne, I'll try moving it to a higher flow area, I just assumed it was the lighting due to its reaction! Would eventually like to move it to the main rock so fragging branches (after it's a little happier) might be the way to go for that?

How long have you had it? Is it a relatively new piece? Or did this just windup happening out of nowhere

Been about 2 months since I bought it from the LFS and happening since then. Polyps are opening well during lighted periods but the trunk also bends when the polyps and branches open up.

If you were going to eventually mount it on your main rockwork, I'd just go ahead and give it a shot. For now, can up the flow to see if it works out. Also, sometimes softys would slump over(to reach its nearest surface) to try propagating itself. I'm sure you can find a nice spot in your tank for it =)
