So a lot of my frags come from shops on plus. I tend to go for ones that have based out nicely onto the plu as they seem to be the healthier ones. But until they grow out (which they dont seem to be doing yet), then the plug is visible.

However, a lot of the tanks I see on here, the frags seem to be attached direct to the rock, and basing out nicely before growing. So is it wrong to milliput the plug to the rock? Or should I leave on a frag rack for a week to settle to my water params, then cut from the plug and attach to the rock with glue/putty?

I'll share my method and let others chime in as well. If at all possible, I never put a frag plug in my tank from any source. Unless the coral is completely encrusted on the plug and I would do extensive damage trying to remove it, I removed the coral off the frag plug, dip it, and either put it on a new plug or glue it to a piece of rock rubble (my preference). I then either put it on a frag rack low in the tank or on the sand bed and let them acclimate for a few days. I like using the rubble because I can just lightly glue the rubble to the base rocks and I never see a plug in my display. If you end up needing to move it for some reason, it's easier to pop the piece of rubble off and relocate the coral.

That's just my opinion on the topic and I'm sure others will chime in and vary.

I am still pretty new to the sps but here is my opinion. I have decided that I like to have my frags on plugs rather than glueing directly to the rock. Regardless of whether you use the suppliers original plug or remount onto a fresh one. I cut the stem off with a bone cutters and then glue the disc to the rock. That way if I decide I need to move the frag after a couple months, or if a pest shows up and I need to remove the coral to dip, it’s still easy. The plugs are visible for now but for me the benefits are great enough that I don’t care. Then once it hopefully all grows out it will all be the same in the end. Just a thought, hope it helps.
