hello I am still kinda new to the zoa and paly arena and was wondering what the best way to frag them was as I have never fragged them before and couldn't find any specific threads on this topic through searching

I'm not sure if this is the best, but it does lessen the stress of fragging.

When you are trying to remove a frag of your zoa cut/chip into the rock so that the zoa comes off with rock attached. This way you are gluing a chunk of rock, not the actual polyp mat, to a frag plug.

If I can not get a chunk of rock off with my polyps then I use a knife to lightly peal the mat off the rock. Picture someone removing skin from a chicken breast before cooking.

Does this help?

I agree with chipping the substrate that the zoa is attached to. By doing so, there is basically no healing time. Polyps usually open up right away. I have successfully fragged baby polyps this way.

I always cut with razer first of the size frag i want then cut with cutters most dont heal well if flesh tears and ive lost whole frags in the past after tearing and geting infection.

Which zoas are you gonna frag?... I'm gonna frag a couple friday night for the swap. Your more than welcome to drop by an watch!
