Hey all. Recently i removes my sand. It was sugar fine sand. Biggest mistake I’ll never make again... my question is i have a lot of dust that keeps settling on my rocks, and i want to know the best way to remove it. Would blasting off the rocks and adding filter socks be the way to go or is there a better way? Thanks

From the rocks, yes. Stirring it up and letting some extra socks capture it is probably best. If you have a sand bed again and it's settled there as well, you can vacuum. I've read of folks getting a canister filter and run the return right back into their system so they vacuum for long periods of time. The canister gets filled with mechanical media only to trap the fine dust.

I also use filter floss between baffles and before the mesh sock in my sump. It does a good job at catching fine particles.
