I got my new red sea reefer 170 last week and I have a big problem. I have a 26 gal freshwater and a BioCube 32. I want my red sea where My BioCube is and want my BioCube where my 26gal is. Having enough water to fill them back after moving will be a problem. I have 15 gals of jugs that I use to put water in for a water change from my RO system. Everyone know that the RO system fills to slow to be able to fill the jugs back after moving them to fill. I think I will just go to Home Depot and get a few more 5 gal buckets and use those. If someone has a better idea let me know. The big issue is I don't want to empty them all the way. How much do you think I could leave in them and move them safely. I will be moving them by myself sense I have no help. I really want to get my new tank set up and start the cycle.

Buy some cheap trashcans from walmart and a cheap submerged pump. Siphon the water into the trash cans, move the tanks then pump the water back in. If dont have room for the trashcans, give away when done :)

I agree get a couple of brute trash cans. Use them and then return them if you dont need them. They actually will be cleaner when you bring them back.

I tried moving a 20 long sump with a small 4" deep sand bed without water. The bed took up about 1/3rd of the tank. It was heavy, I did move a little bit of the top layer. I was able to get it down two flights of stairs and into my pickup truck, but when I got it to my new place I called a buddy from work to help me up a smaller flight of stairs. I was around 33 at the time, I don't think I would attempt it now.

More recently I moved a freshwater cube tank which is around 10 gallons with about 2" of substrate without water. That was heavy too but easier since it was a compact tank.

Ive changed the substrate in my planted 55g 3x each time carried outside to clean. Wet substrate is heavy. If there is sand remove as much you can [emoji23] 5 gallon buckets work well for this. Also gives you a chance to rinse it without making a sulfide bomb.
