I have never raised or tested (until now) for Alkalinity, i dont know much about Alkalinity so i am new to this part. Can someone please help me on how to raise it? My Alk is around 6.8-7 right now i guess an ideal level would be around 9?

I have used Reef Builder from Seachem with no problems and like it.
I use two part from Bulk Reef Supply. Cheap and effective. Whatever you choose though go slow with it. Sudden alk changes can be hazardous to coral health!
Any product that changes alk can have an effect on livestock. The key is to make the change slowly!

baking soda or baked baking soda is the cheapest way.
No problems. But like roshi said go slow with it. Dont try to go from 7 dkh to 9 dkh at one time that have negative affects.
i used to dose the BRS stuff everyday. really easy if you're good about it (i wasn't).
oops, really should have posted dr. holmes-farley's article directly
An Improved Do-it-Yourself Two-Part Calcium and Alkalinity Supplement System by Randy Holmes-Farley - Reefkeeping.com
I add it to my RO and get my alk up to about 10 dkh in the top off water. I do 30% water change once a month and between those two it keeps my alk at about 9-10 dkh i never really have to dose the tank.
