I have a sally lightfoot I want to remove from my tank. Harassing fish, and needs to go. I think that is what has harassed a few fish to death. What is the best way to remove?? Thanks

You can cut the bottom of a pop bottle off, put some food in the cap portion, tie a string or fishing line to the bottle. Then you have to wait and watch until the sucker crawls in.

BUMP. any other suggestions? I want to get mine out as well.

Crabbing 2.0 or should I say 0.2?

Prop a glass jar or glass cup against the rock and put some food in the bottom of it. Crab will crawl in and cant get out.

Chase him into a rock and pull the whole rock out, put it in a bucket of water

I have been in the exact same situation.... I tried the pest strap, but a glass jar with some irresistible food has worked the best. Lean it up on some rocks and the crab goes in, but can't get a grip to get back out. I tried to spear the sucker, but they are pretty fast!

What is the crab actually dong? Mine will lunge at a fish when they get too close but never attacks it. It's only saying this is my spot like any other fish. I would be very surprised if one ever actually hurt a fish and I have some small fish.

I have had them for years. Never seen one kill anything or touch a coral. They love picking the rocks. That's all they ever do.

But if I wanted to remove one I would lure on to a top rock with food and then pull the rock.

Mine actually ended up dying. I was worried that it would catch a fish as it lunged, but it never did. I think it was more so saying this is my spot as RichReef said.

My sally was seen cutting my torch and eating it. I don’t think all Sally’s are the same. Before we got our torch we’ve never had an issue either.

Get a six line wrasse. Mine made short work of my sally lightfoot crab. I introduced the wrasse to eliminate an abundance of pods in my tank. But I’m glad to no longer have a somewhat large crab with spikes on its legs running all over my corals. Something that ticked me and the corals off mind you. Say no to crabs. Buy shrimp. ✌
