I am thinking about switching my tank from my gen 1 radion to a 4 bulb T5. I want to know what the best way to go about it would be. I don't want to shock all of my corals. I was also thinking about possibly supplementing the t5 with a kessil a160 that I have as well. The tank is a 40 gallon IM nuvo. Thanks for any advice and help.

Use a quality t5 fixture like an ATI or Giesemann and good bulbs and the switch will go smoothly. I recently switched from 2 ocean revive s026 panels and a buildmyled super actinic strip to an ATI sunpower 8 bulb and there was no acclimation. Just a positive response from day 1. It will be a different look than you're used to though. Do you run your tank on a heavy blue look or is it on the whiter side?

I run my tank on the whiter side for quite a while throughout the day but I do like the bluer look. That's one of he reasons I was contemplating supplementing with the kessil.
