I need help, I have a sock and a cup in my sump and have been struggling to come up with a good way to put filter floss in that won’t clog quickly or bunch up and not cover the holes in the bottom. I have seen vids of people rolling large pieces and placing into cup but that seems to waste more floss. I am kinda stuck using the cup and not just using two socks plus it’s a great place to put carbon or chemipure bags when needed.
Thanks in advance for any ideas

I use filter cups now instead of socks. I fill about 3/4 of the bottom of the cup with filter floss, and I stuff a 6” square of puro-kleen filter media sheet into the top portion (mostly to keep things Very quiet without any water sounds).

Never had bunching or not filtering using this method. I spray off the pro-kleen sheet and use it several times before cutting a new piece. The top half of the filter floss is dirty but the bottom half is relatively clean. I change it once a week. Never had any clogging.
