Ive got some bubble algae in my tank and wanted to get rid of it, i bought some vibrant for coral reef tanks and wanted to know the best way of using it without any dire consequences to my coral?

I recently used Vibrant to control bubble algae in my tank. It’s a mixed reef with sps, lps, and soft corals. I didn’t have any issue what so ever with any livestock. I dosed the recommended amount weekly for about 6-7 weeks. It took a while to start to see results but about 5 weeks in I noticed the bubble algae was just gone. I removed my Chaeto from my fuge during the treatment. 2 weeks after I finished I added the Chaeto back in and it melted. I waited 2 more weeks and it seems to doing fine now.

Based off of my results, I highly recommend it.

I've never had bubble algae but my emerald crab wipes out algae and I've heard they eat bubble too. He's a bottomless pit. I prefer natural vs chemical if possible.

I'm currently using vibrant now to get rid of some bubble algae, I did buy 3 emerald crabs but there only small atm and the bubble on the algae are to big for them.

I'm only 2 weeks in using vibrant and haven't really noticed much apart from it looks like its turning white/ pale colour, only time will tell. few more weeks and I should notice it disappearing

Happy reefing

Very true! It is a natural bacteria that takes care or algae another reason i considered this option. Ill follow the video and do 1 dose every two weeks :) and that one dose would be according to the bottle? Is that what you did @MnFish1?

I use at 80% of recommended dosage

I did 2 doses the first week - then plan 1 dose/week - But - I probably under dosed based on volume. Its also a pretty mature tank - haven't noticed any increase in nutrients. Everything looks good

Just tried this product out. Had been battling bubble algae for a year and was tired of the constant battle of picking it out. Especially in the hard to reach areas. I had a huge clump in an area that I couldn’t easily get to and within the first weeks dose it was gone. I also encountered a small area of turf algae over the last several months and it resolved that issue as well. However, I did follow the recommended dosing and my star fish of 7+ years were not happy with it. No casualties as of yet but did experience some arms snapping at random points.

After using Vibrant for about 4 weeks i notice some of my SPS lost color and brownout a bit . PO4 went up from 0.04 to 0.14 , nitrates are low .
Did you guys notice the same ?
