Better acclimation plan?

My last order of fish died due to ammonia burn while drip acclimating. I have found two methods and I come to you guys to ask which will be better on the fish.
1. Immediately treat with prime and drip acclimate
2. Float for 30 minutes, then release
Thanks, I really can't go through losing 5 more fish.

There are a lot of QT guides you can follow...but if the fish has been in the bag for more than a day, I float the bag to temp acclimate (leaving the bag closed). I then open the bad and immediately add some Prime, drip acclimating until salinity matches.
