Better growth for zoa

I think the frag plugs are more for propagation then for faster growth. If there going into your display and you don't want to see a plug for a while till they grow out then you can break your plug and place just a small piece with zoas on your rocks. Looks much better then a tank of frag plugs just much harder if you ever wanted to sell or trade them.

i have been told that most frag plugs are made of some sort of crushed coral. the idea behind using CC calcium in turn will help the coral grow faster? this is just somthing i have herd more then a few times..

From my experience it doesn't really make a difference with what the zoas are placed on. However, i believe that once you cut a colony, the side cut will grow zoas quicker and lighting also makes a big difference.

Thanks everyone. I'll them on the plug for now for trading. Maybe if I get an extra head I'll glue down on a rock and see what'll grow faster. Lenny is that from your own experience the. It side grows faster?

Yup. That's why when ever i get in a big colony, I frag off the outer polyps. That way I get more frags, and the colony will grow more polyps in a shorter amount of time. It's a win win.
