What's better....the MP40 or the Maxspect Gyre XF250?
Looking to put two in a 220 gallon tank. - 72''x 24''x 30''
Do you think either will work fine?
Mainly gonna be fish only semi aggressive, some soft corals.

Thank you!

After I bought the gyre I won't go back. Not much adjusting and no dead spots. The controller interface could be better but I like the gyre
.For my new build I will hook them to the Apex

You really need at least two mp60's for a six foot tank. I have two mp40's on my six foot tank and will be upgrading soon.

To be honest. I was in the same boat as @Mark Gray. Installed a XF-250 and using it in OGC Mode at 50% Ramping up and 40 down and i am very pleased with it. At the moment I have in the other side a Jebao RW- 15 at W1 mode.

Now thinking if I should replace the RW-15 with another XF-250.

I have 2, 250 gyres on my 180. It's 6 ft tank . I have plenty of good flow. One of the gyres has given me a "little" prob but not enough to not like them

What was the problem?

You guys answered my future question. I'm setting up a 180 gallon Reef and will use dual Maxspect 250 Gyres.

Can you guys explain the controller? I won't have an APEX for a while, so will the Maxspect controller manage both Gyre 250's working together?

Hello Cory, One ate up a couple of bushings & would rattle a bit. I finally replaced the entire blades& covers . No probs with it so far .
