Im thinking of switching to Red Sea Coral Pro Salt or the Brightwell Aquatics salt. Any recommendations as to which salt is better? Or if there's a better salt? I was using 1:1 IO and RC but it leaves this white film in the mixing container.

I've used many salt mixes over the years, including those you mentioned. They all were fine salt mixes, but I never found any that were any better than plain IO.

I see no issues with the precipitate (calcium and possibly magnesium carbonnate), but if it concerns you, you can add muriatic acid to IO to lower the alkalinity (to, sat 8 dKH) and you'll see little to no precipitate. :)
