Smelled something like plastic burning around 1:00 A.M. Found Penn-Plax Silent Air actually starting to flame behind my aquarium! Have no idea what happened. Only set this up in June and has never have to start as we have had no power failures. Had I not awakened this could have caused a house fire. The whole thing melted and dropped melted plastic all over the floor behind the aquarium. Any advice as to how to spread this news so no one else has this problem and possible lose their home or life?

Thanks for posting to make others aware. I would contact the manufacturer and the place you purchased from.
