What lights do the BGM chalice like best? i have mine on the bottom under my 20k XM tank is about 18". It seemed to have loss some of its green so wondering if it likes higher light?

I had mine around 8" from my 250 MH for a while and it got bleached, now I have it at the bottom of my tank and the color came back.

I HAVE T5HO 8X54 AND I CAN PUT IT ANY PLACE IN THE TANK IT LIKES IT ALL HERE IS A PIC FOR YOUR TO DECIDE :)

man thats a sweet piece :) hope mine grows fast its only 1 eye right now...

i guess i shall leave it on the bottom then

I've seen them on the bottom and up high. I feel it might do a little bit better not quite mid way up especially depending on where your lights are set. I'm assuming that since your using MH you have your lights roughly 12in above the water so that makes 27-28 inches of light travel. I would try the BGM at about 10in off the bottom. That would reduce light travel to 17-18 inches giving more light yet without the worry of bleaching.

I have mine quite shaded, and it is a very dark green. I'm going to try and give it a bit more light to see if gets brighter....

hmmm i wish i had more frags of them to experiment where they like best in my tank

It was bright green when i first got it now its very light color so thats why i moved it up maybe i should of gradualy moved it up so ill leave it in the middle. My lights are about 14" off the surface.

Yah I have a friend who has his BGM 5in below the water. His looks amazing. The green has turned to an awesome neon green/gold shine to it. Looks nothing like the original piece but is an awesome representation of what lighitng does to corals. If you want to try higher light, I would agree that you should move it up slowly
