So I got a bi color blenny two days ago. I noticed at lights out my monti had white spots that looks like it was picked at. Well I left this morning and came home to way more white spots and corrals polpys not out. This monti looks great every single day my water params are fine I test daily everything. So I removed the fish known to eat sps sometimes. Will the portions that are white recover on my monti if I keep it stable or are those forever white ? It’s 20 percent worse than this photo. This was last night.

Interesting. I have a bicolor blenny that has never touched any of my shrooms or grafted monti.

The only other thing I have in the tank is two clown fish and online it says some Blenny will eat sps. I have no idea but nothing else changed except I added him two days ago. I didn’t want to risk it. That monti is 4X the cost of the fish.

Yes if the coral is healthy it will recover no problem, but I highly doubt it was your blenny....
It couldn’t be anything else tho I only have two clownfish and an urchin. But those have been there for awhile. Online it says the bi color blenny has been seen eating sps. Those look like bite marks no ?

It may be hit or miss with the blenny. I just haven't experienced mine paying much attention to corals if any. More interested in chasing me around tank like a puppy lol

I removed a bicolor blenny because I’m pretty sure he was nipping my SPS. The marks definitely looked like a half moon shape like the blennys mouth. I’ve heard of other people having issues with them.
See. Look at the photo too. Looks like half moon bites. And my other montis that are an inch from it are just fine. This monti is a subset monti which maybe looked like algae with the green polpys.

Yes it’s not common I don’t think but I can’t pinpoint it with anything else. Ugh I’m getting extremely unlucky with fish. My royal gamma was killing anything I added and it took me awhile to figure that out. Then I add this and within two days my monti is like dying lol

Thank you. So corral bleaching is different ? Or can bleaching recover also ?

Yes a coral can recover from bleaching also. Monti's can develop whites spots for many reasons. usually a pest(nudis) or parameters. They like some phosphates

We shall see if removing the blenny and not changing my usually makes the polpys extend in a few days. My phosphates yesterday before feeding were 0.08

I’d say the same, but Bi color Blennys have a tendency to the abnormal. Mine was the most aggressive fish in my tank, even though Blennys are super peaceful

Are all blennys like this ? What about the tail spot or lawnmower?
Definitely not. I’d compare Bi colors to clownfish - unpredictable. Mine was territorial of its home which just happened to be where the anemone my clowns hosted was. You’re most likely going to be fine!
