Bicolor blenny flips off rock

Can anyone tell me why my bicolor blenny does this from time to time he has been doing it for quite a while almost as if he likes to bounce off the rocks etc been doing it for about since I had him in the tank which is like 3 months now all other fish had no issues

It can be a sign of an external parasite such as ich.

They do this to scratch themselves.

Have you noticed any little white spots on any of your fish?

I cant see the video, but they do graze off the rocks and can bend themselves in weird angles to grab bites. Dont know if thats whats happening in the vid though.

No nothing, he has been doing it for quite awhile I’ve had him in my tank for about 3 months now and my other fish aren’t showing signs of parasites I have a bristletooth tang, clown, anthias, tricolor fairy wrasse, diamond goby and lawnmower blenny and they do not show signs of anything he does it every now and then but nothing else happens or has happened to my other fish

It’s about a 45 gallon tank

Could be stress related as well if he is feeling cramped and wants others away from his area

If you're not seeing any signs on other fish I'd suspect stress.

The video definitely looks lik he's scratching tho.

People have ich in their tanks all the time and fish will never show signs other than a little scratching.

I'd keep an eye out for any discoloring or spots.

If you still don't see any over the next few days I'd bet stress related.

He is probably fighting itch from ick. Did you quarantine and treat your fish prior to putting them in your main tank? There are treatments that are reef friendly. From your picture it looks like you have limited corals, so if he continues you may want to treat the entire tank. If Midas has it you other fish have picked it up from him for sure.
