Big Clean

Well its that time of year again for me. I do a big clean about every 6 months where I take my skimmer, Return pump, powerheads, heaters offline and give them a good soaking and cleaning. Anyone else get nervous when you do this? Seems everytime I have had a problem in my tank its when I do this. Plug the return pump in and find it don't work, Powerheads aren't following their program when turned back on so spend an hour troubleshooting, ect ect. I enjoy dong this but I hate the problems that generally arise. I usually find something or have to replace something every time I do this. Wish me luck. Maybe this is the time that nothing bad happens LOL

I like to split my major maintenance up throughout the year, quarterly kinda thing. Then, hopefully I only have to deal with one issue at a time. Keep a separate calendar up in the kitchen just for the tank too. The Mrs. even checks that as not to "book" me for things on those days.
