Big ole' TRUE PPE Colony

These have really exploded for me lately. They were in my buddies tank for quite some time while I took a break from the hobby... A couple months before I took them back they just took off in his tank. I didn't realize until now how many were on here but its over 40 polyps! Just thought I'd share. Sorry the photo is crappy it was taken w/ my phone.

Anyone else have good sized PPE colonies?

I don't have one that big yet, but the person I got them from has had a colony for years. At one point she had over 200 huge polyps plus lots of buds. It was about the size of a kid's nerf football. She's fragged it quite a bit over the last year or two and she's probably down more around the 100+ range, but it's still quite large and impressive.

I have had 3 polyps for six months, where are you guys placing them? i have mine lower light and low flow

In my buddies tank they were about half way up in the tank in pretty decent flow.

I've had a single polyp for three years now (actually had a couple of single polyp frags at one time with little to no growth)...

Yea I don't know they're definitely very slow to get growing but it seems like now they're starting to spread pretty fast.

Hoping for a big colony someday. Started with 3 polyps in September, up to 8 now. They have a strong medium alternating flow and are shaded by a big acro colony with 250 Radiums overhead. I have been feeding 2 or 3 heads some mysis once or twice a week.
