He’s got another spot on the other side next to his eye. It looks like crack kinda, skin breaking. That’s how big spot on the other started possibly.
got a bunch of sick fish from NYaquatic.
lost over 20 fish. These guys were in copper for 30 days. The rest of the group seem fine. He’s also eating. But stays low and doesn’t join the rest of the group on top. Sometimes they check up on him. One even hangs around with him. Even saw him feeding the sick ones maybe? I mean they did mouth to mouth kinda like anthias but very gentle and graceful so there is no way it’s aggression I think. New fish are from blue zoo and all seem fine. Should I catch him and put him in quarantine or give it time? Thanks guys

Chromis (and Anthias) are extremely susceptible to uronema, and there is no treatment or fallow for it. I believe it’s not super contagious though.

Looks like one other chromis has it, spot is about 4 times smaller or it just hasn’t progressed. They hang on the bottom together now. So no treatment whatsoever? When you say they. Do you mean all? Or just 2 with spots? I ordered 5 more from bluezoo. Because they look so cool schoolong on top

There is very little known treatment-wise and cures are very rare. The disease is not likely to pass to other fish species, but you are unfortunately likely to experience this with any new chromis that enters the tank. Oftentimes you’ll want to quarantine chromis for a long period of time because once the disease gets into the display tank it can be very challenging to get out.

So remaining 4 chromis and 5 which I just ordered are all doomed or there is a chance for most or at least some of them? It would really suck if I can’t have chromis since they quickly became some of my favorite fish

the ones that already have sores are likley goners. You should treat the remaining chromis and new ones. It is so common in these fish and honestly a nightmare to deal with. It is the one fish I will not buy. You CAN try and prophylactically treat them though. This disease can be internal so I would treat all of the ones you are buying in hopes of saving them.

Here is what you need to know:

The best you can do is isolate the remaining ones and keep them well fed and medicated in a quarantine tank. Don’t let the new ones you ordered come into contact with the old ones, which are likely actively infected. Although there’s no fallow period for uronema, you’re more likely to keep the new ones healthy by introducing them when there is no longer an active infection. Unfortunately, though, you may still notice them die off over time.

I saved my chromis from uronema using Ruby Reef Rally
So I need to catch 2 visually infected chromis and set up quarantine again? Omg 3rd time now. Ok thank you guys. I really like the way swim together actively on top and getting other fish to move more:)
Do all chromis school just like green on top? Any certain chromis stronger with deseases and parasites?

Nice! Did you do 14 days? What kind of chromis? How many you got? Thx
Yes, I did all 14 days. I had three blue green chromis and they all survived.

Can try a peroxide bath for immediate (but temporary) relief.
