Hi!

So i have just started planning my sump size, and i know you all think bigger is better. I agree, but where do you stash all the cables and controllers and such if i pack in huge sump? There would be no room for electricity, except for attaching it all to the walls.

Should i max it and screw everything to the walls or leave some space for all the gear? How did you make your sump?

I'm asking because i will order glass and make it myself and any inspiration would help alot.

Thank you!

/Jonas

PS. Sump size if maxed will be a little over 40 gallons i reckon.

you can’t safely/neatly manage equip & cables in tight spaces underneath a tank (edit: you can and there are examples everywhere here on R2R; its just difficult)..many people have moved thier gear to cabinets...I’m in that process now...

People either hang it up nice and neat on a wall or throw it in a jumbled mess next to the sump like me LOL
I'm about 1/2 and 1/2 on this one. I have a 55g sump under my 75g aquarium. So not much room in the stand. I mounted the power strips, return pump controller and wave maker controller to the side that is about 4" from a wall so its still pretty hidded. But there's wires going everywhere.

I fell in love with the one red sea(?) tank that was posted that had the white ikea cabinet next to it for must the gear. Gave it a super clean look and it fit in!!
