BigMan's 160

Just wanted to update to keep the thread going. Nothing new in the tank yet. Will either get a few clowns this weekend or order some snails, haven't decided yet.

I have a new power supply ordered for my led and going to pick up a new ballast for the t5 setup. The wife is painting the canopy sometime this week, so I should have light by the weekend.

Just placed an order for 4 t5 bulbs, medications and some stuff to start a QT. Going to pick up a 20 gal and hob filter this week.

Does this list look like a good start?

Went and bought a 20gal tank, lid and hob filter from Petco for a QT. Now I'm just waiting for the order to be delivered so I can finish setting up the QT. Will be buying my first round of fish once that is done.

Probably going to get a pair of clowns unless someone has a better idea for my first couple fish.

I'll be moving the tank over in front of the blanket on the wall instead of being in front of those lights.

now is a good time to get some CUC in there.

Personally, I don't like adding clowns first as they pick a spot and can be rather aggressive. Usually best to get the most peaceful fish in first.

Well I posted a small stock list. It was clowns, a goby, jaw fish, tangs and royal gamma. So from that list, it was clowns or the rg first. I'm open to suggestions on a good first couple of fish though.

And I'll definitely pick up some cuc this weekend too.

Well after reading up on the fire fish, I decided against them because they nip at LPS and are skiddish. I went and picked up a pair of clowns and a dozen snails.

Here they are in the QT.

Well, they are still alive, eating every day, and I would assume they are active. I spend about 30 minutes when I get home from work talking to them. They like to stay on one side of the QT, and wont go in the pipe. Dont see any spots or stringy poo. I'm going to start them on General Cure tomorrow and wont be running copper unless I start to see spots.

Added my 2 clowns to the DT today. Hoping they'll start exploring soon.

Added a Diamond Goby and a Flame Hawkfish yesterday. They have been treated with copper at the store and are eating well. I did a freshwater dip when I brought them home. Started feeding frozen instead of flake and everyone seems to love it.

Hopefully, I'll be picking up an Ati 8 bulb 48in dimmable fixture and bulbs tomorrow for $300. Seems like a pretty good deal so I jumped on it.

Couldn't get a pic of the Goby as it's hiding, but here's the Hawkfish.

Picked up a few coral frags and 3 rock flower anemones I won from a raffle.

Sorry it's so blue. I'll try to figure out picture settings on my phone.

Looks like I'm finally starting to go through the ugly stages. Is this diatoms? Do I just ride this out?
