Hi
Found a LFS located near my work, and found that the owner was exceptionally helpful and willing to offer advise.
I was enquiring re. Costs of Dry Rock, as well as Live Rock and he encouraged to not go with either and build a foundation utilising CerMedia.
I am asking for people's experiences or opinions with this (essentially) building block, as well as pictures of how things were landscaped due to the restricted shapes provided
Finally any ideas of volume required for tank size for instance written information often suggests 1lb live rock per 2 gal tank
Hope it makes sense.

I don't know if he was actually telling you to use nothing but the filter media as your aquascape, if he was I would look into another LFS . Those blocks are added into the filter area to help with nitrification. I would use something like that if I was going for a real minimalist aquascape and needed and extra punch in my bio filter . To save some money from buying rocks , I would look at Bulk Reef Supply web site. Look at their dry rock selection (Reef Savor) rock is a very popular choice and what I have used in the past 5 or 6 tanks .

There are rock shaped blocks that they make. I remember seeing those at MACNA. but for the price I would not use just the media as aquascape. Plus they are very light weight and I don't know how well they would stack/stay in place. They are more of a supplement to live rock.

I would think the rock shaped ones were just to blend in existing rock work , I don't think they are intended for a whole aquascape. Although that could be done , but the cost would be ridiculous and I'm sure the results would be the same as using a single block in the sump.

Thanks guys!!
Will budget for the Dry Rock also
