So I'm told the bio blocks I had were more for freshwater and breakdown and yes they do. They are cheap crap.
So I have added 2 PolypLabs Genesis bricks (left) and 2 Mantis bricks (right). Mantis I'm told were the first to produce these kind of bricks? correct me if that's wrong. Mantis are obviously a little larger and the cheaper bricks. Both are solid pressed. Like a cinder block and quite weighty for their size.
I am hoping shortly I can remove the rest of those cheap blocks and fix my nitrate problem.

I made up a couple of acrylic stands to keep them off the bottom.

I like what you have done there. And to agree, whatever kind of bricks I once used (the ones everyone complained about, and warned would disintegrate), Gave me the same problem. It was the most unreal composition of anything short of something from the moon… And if you sneezed on them trying to take them out of your sump they would break and become like synthetic sand.
