This tank has been running for 2 years. I do a 10% water change a week. Went on vacation for 8 days and forgot the water change before I left. When I came back 3 of my awesome mushrooms were just about gone the Orange coral in the middle shrunk to about half its size. The frogspawn and hammer corals took a beating, the zoanthids didn't make it, the blastos also looked awful. Most of the corals came back pretty sting except the two in the middle.

Hey very nice maturing tank! I'm surprised that little skip did all that, curious to know what may have been the aspect of skipping that caused those issues, is calcium or alk low?

With several years working with a 12g nano I have chosen to upgrade to a larger AIO that can house a Skimmer. I used to do the weekly water changes as well but unfortunately in those small tanks detritus builds up in the back chambers and if not vacuumed and rocks cleaned it will always lead to a buildup of high phosphates. I'm curious though with those corals being dependent upon your water changes did you get any water parameters when you got back to see exactly what went wrong?
