Considering picking up one of these for a second tank or maybe even to use for quarantining fish or corals. Would go hood-less and use different lighting. I really dont know much about these. Any good? Thanks in advance.

They are solid tanks, well built. Lots of threads with simple mods to make them even better. I have had two up and running at one time before merging the contents into a single 40 breeder which earlier this year I upgraded to a 210 gallon. Only real issue or complaint I had was water movement. Specifically around optimal power head placement. But once you get flow dialed in they are solid performers.

Very nice thread. Havent been through it all yet. Quick question. Is replacing return pump plumbing fairly easy? Can you just use tubing? I have zero idea about these tanks so forgive me if the question doesnt make sense. Also how much water does the return chamber hold?

It is simple provided you use the recommend replacement that most of us used. I recall upgrading mine and it is plug and play. Really that simple with great flow - first change I made from what I recall.

For the pump I put in, there was some significant modification. I had to break out the bottom chamber that is siliconed in (usually holds the stock foam pad). You then also have to get some different tubing to accomodate the different size of the outlet of the Sicce 3.0 pump. So it really all depends on what size pump you use. If you do this all when the tank is dry it should be nice and easy. I made all these mods when the tank was in full use.

Not sure volume wise how much the rear chambers hold, but if you don't want to hear the waterfall, I would have them filled up on the high side (I don't pay attention to that high/low water mark on the side of the tank...most people dont either.

i have a 29 and 32 and think they’re both great tanks. but i do love the lids. look much more clean.
